Overview
While working as a contract technical writer for Manheim's Operational Excellence team, I was asked to create the documentation for a new vehicle photo service Manheim was planning to roll out in 2014. This service, called the Enhanced Vehicle Imaging Service (EVIS), offers 15 high-quality photos of a vehicle's interior and exterior. Manheim created this service to help sellers reach more online buyers.
To ensure consistent vehicle image quality at each auction location where this service is offered, Manheim needed training and documentation that would cover everything needed to set up and deliver this service. This included:
* How to construct a vehicle photo booth
* Defining traffic flow to, from, and around the photo booth
* General framing requirements for photographing the vehicles
* Specific instructions for taking each of the 15 vehicle images
